چکیده

ObjectiveThis study aims to investigate the utility of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) applied as an epicardial patch during coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) target hibernating myocardium; that is, tissue with persistently decreased myocardial function, in a large animal model.MethodsHibernating myocardium was induced juvenile swine (n = 12) using surgically placed constrictor on left anterior descending artery, causing stenosis without infarction. After 12 weeks, single-vessel CABG performed internal thoracic graft. During CABG, region consisting either MSCs grown onto polyglactin mesh 6), or sham 6). Four weeks after and placement, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging examined by gross inspection, including dilators for vessel patency, electron microscopy, protein assays, proteomic analysis.ResultsCABG + MSC showed improvement contractile function (78.24% ± 19.6%) compared (39.17% 5.57%) inotropic stimulation (P < .05). Compared control, microscopy mitochondrial size, number, morphology; analysis similarly increases expression biogenesis marker peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1-alpha (0.0022 0.0009 vs 0.023 0.009) .01) along key components transport chain, succinate dehydrogenase (complex II) (0.06 0.02 0.14 0.03) .05) adenosine triphosphate synthase V) (2.7 0.4 4.2 0.26) .05).ConclusionsIn myocardium, placement cell shows promise improving morphology function.

A comparison of laboratory findings in coronary artery bypass surgery with and without cardiopulmonary bypass

Background : Quests for doing coronary artery bypass surgery by a technique with lower complications is going on, for this aim many studies compared patients undergoing CABG with or without cardiopulmonary bypass. This study was carried out to compare laboratory findings after coronary artery bypass in these two groups of patients. Materials and Methods: In a retrospective study, 167 patients ...

Hibernating myocardium.

Decreased myocardial contraction occurs as a consequence of a reduction in blood flow. The concept of hibernation implies a downregulation of contractile function as an adaptation to a reduction in myocardial blood flow that serves to maintain myocardial integrity and viability during persistent ischemia. Unequivocal evidence for this concept exists in scenarios of myocardial ischemia that last...

Dobutamine stress echocardiography identifies hibernating myocardium and predicts recovery of left ventricular function after coronary revascularization.

BACKGROUND The identification of hibernating myocardium is important in selecting patients who will benefit from coronary revascularization. This study was performed to determine whether dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) could identify hibernating myocardium and predict improvement in regional systolic wall thickening after revascularization. METHODS AND RESULTS DSE was performed in 49...

Prevention and recovery of hibernating myocardium by microvascular repair.

Coronary artery disease, ischemic cardiomyopathy, and congestive heart failure continue to confer significant morbidity and mortality despite advances in medical therapy, percutaneous coronary interventions, and surgical revascularization.1,2 This unmet clinical need is the rationale for novel therapeutic strategies like therapeutic angiogenesis. Unlike traditional revascularization, which focu...

Emergency Conversion from Off Pump to Cardiopulmonary Bypass in Patients with Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery

Introduction: As off pump Coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG) is a developing method in coronary cardiac surgery, most surgeons are anxious about the danger of emergency crash conversion. In this observational study we tried to show the rate and outcome of conversion . Material and methods: In this descriptive study about 477 coronary off-pump CABG patients were operated in Ghaem hos...
